KALSHI FUGDI

Hii friends.... welcome to my fourth blog.....😍

In my all three blogs i have written about various flok dances of goa and in this blog also I share my experience about kalshi fugdi....

Kalshi fugdi is probably an offshoot of the fugdi. The pot was an inseparable part of the daily village routine. Used to water the vegetables and collect water for domestic purpose, the kalshi come to occupy an important part of their lives....

The dance formation includes actions of washing clothes and glimpses into the lives of the women, During summer the women engage themselves to grow a vegetables farm.....For watering vegetables, water has to be caried from a distance many of times, while going back to the watershed, they dance with empty kalshi (pot). Nowadays this dance is doing all women's in maximum villages of goa....while doing this dance the bangles of brass metal hit the pot and create a sweet sound.....

Before starting the dance they light the lamp. Kalshi fugdi is performed before goddess mahalaxkshmi during the vrata offered to that goddess. It is dance in two forms in a circle or in a row of dancers. The Song of kalshi dance might be about puranik stories, family life, complaints rivalries or people's. The clothes worn fir kalshi fugdi is the hindu culture use colourful navvari sarees...(kapad)

My experience about kalshi fugdi is that...in my village we celebrate new year on 1st of January every year...and this time we performed this kalshi fugdi...it is one of the enjoyable dance  that what a feel...

MUSAL DANCE

MUSAL DANCE

At the historical village of chandor in the kshatriya caste village's courtyard this musal (pounding mace) march - cum - dance is performed on the second day of Goan carnival. The dance performed by men who carry 'musal'  a war weapon in medieval times, is performed with full Hindu martial even though the Kshatriya's of chandor converted to Christianity long ago. The dance cum song is performed to celebrate the victory of 14th century of the kings of vijaynagar, harihara, over the cholas.

This is one group of musal dance which we performed in VPC (Vidya Prabodhini College Parvari Goa) there is one function during ganesh festival that time we performed this dance n we got 2nd prize for this dance....Musal dance is one of the best dance n enjoyable dance in all folk dances...

An important aspect associate with this dance is that it is performed by christians to praise a hindu king..The main day when the dance is performed is the beautiful full moon day of falguna month of the hindu calendar...

Morulo is an traditional flok dance in goa performed during shigmo festival by the backwards community. It dirives it's name from the peacock also know as 'Mor' in konkani.T he dance is also known as peacock dance and performed to the soft music of a light drums.
